Kate Perez, math supervisor for Westfield schools, and Karoline Kells, assistant principal at Westfield Middle School, were excited to tour some of the classes at the two-week Project Lead the Way Summer Vacation Academy at Highland Elementary School July 8-19.
The academy was funded by an Acceleration Academy grant of $173,000 and served kindergarten through sixth grade. Preschoolers also had a class funded by the Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative. Altogether, 245 students and 30 teachers participated in the camp.
