Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Welcome back to another exciting school year! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer break. As we prepare to embark on a new academic journey, I wanted to provide you with important information and updates to ensure a smooth transition into the upcoming school year.
Important Dates:
- Schools open for students in grades 1-12 on Wednesday, August 30.
- The first day of school for Kindergarten and Preschool is Wednesday, September 6.
- The last day of school is currently June 13 if we do not use any emergency closure days.
District Priorities:
Our district priorities this year include strengthening our environment and school cultures, collaborating as a community to develop our Portrait of a Graduate, using data to develop action plans to improve student academic performance, implementing new social emotional learning curriculum PreK-12, and enhancing school safety protocols and procedures. Our goal is to provide a well-rounded education that prepares our students for success in an ever-changing world.
Communication and Involvement:
Open communication between school and home is crucial for student success. I encourage parents and guardians to stay connected with teachers and administrators through regular emails, newsletters, and parent-teacher conferences. Your involvement in your child’s education greatly contributes to their growth and development. Your feedback is also invaluable, and we are eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions as we work together to create an exceptional learning environment for all students.
Transportation and Student Schedules:
Busing information will be sent out to families early this week. If you do not receive this mailing, please contact our Transportation Office at (413) 572-6599. Student schedules will be available in Power School starting on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. If your child did not receive a schedule or cannot access it, please contact your school.
Breakfast and Lunch:
I am pleased to announce that breakfast and lunch for students will be provided at no cost again at all schools. For more information, please call our Food Services Department at (413) 572-6493.
In closing, please do not hesitate to call my office at (413) 572-6403 extension 9 if we can be of any assistance. As we approach this new school year, let us remember that we are a community dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment. Together, we can achieve great things.
We look forward to welcoming each and every one of you back to school. Here's to a year filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences!
Sincerely,
Stefan Czaporowski
