Grade three and four students at Franklin traveled to Westfield State University to learn more about water filtration systems and build one of their own using a variety of materials. Using the the engineering design process, students were able to determine which materials cleaned the water best. It was all about planning, creating, testing, and improving with your team. Lunch in the WSU Dining Commons was a success, too. Many thanks to Dr. Jennifer Hanselman and her WSU team for arranging this wonderful field trip.
