Every year, districts and schools in Massachusetts receive a report card. Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the district and school report cards are designed to show families how our districts and schools are doing with regards to educating students. It's the season of giving at Westfield High School! Students and staff have been bringing in donations to benefit many local organizations. We have our Giving Tree in the main office, the Council on Peer Education is holding a sock drive, and our DLP program is sponsoring Operation Santa Paws to benefit the Westfield Animal Shelter. Westfield High School ❤our community!

The Council on Peer Education is sponsoring a Sock Drive to support the Westfield Samaritan Inn. Socks are the number one most requested item in homeless shelters, so let’s give the gift of warm and toasty feet to those experiencing homelessness and poverty.
New socks can be dropped off in a box located inside the School Counseling Office between December 10-22.
We can all make a difference, one small act of kindness can make a big impact in our community.

Sue and Ralph Figy and Eileen Jachym, volunteers helping with the Pfizer and Janssen J&J COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Aug. 26 at Westfield High School will be at the doors of the high school from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. greeting everyone who comes for a shot, and handing them a $10 gift card. The free clinic is open to students, staff and community members ages 12 and up.
Sue Figy said the gift cards are thanks to the generosity of Westfield Gas & Electric and Firtion Adams Funeral Home, along with many, many people in the community that have sent in gift cards, the vast majority of which are from businesses in town, but some as far afield as McCray’s Farm in South Hadley.
This will be the second clinic at Westfield High School. Seventy-five people received vaccinations at the first clinic, and this one has the capacity to serve 140 people. Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins will be taken as slots are available.
Registration for the Aug. 26 vaccination clinic is simple to complete using a cell phone, tablet or computer, and going to https://curative.com/sites/28991 . The link is also available at www.schoolsofwestfield.org under COVID-19 Testing and Health Services.
Parents/guardians are able to give fully-compliant consent for their minor to be vaccinated through the digital sign-up process. Although a health insurance card is requested at sign up, health insurance is not required to participate in the free clinic.
The second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be administered at Westfield High School from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 16.

Citing COVID restrictions on indoor events, Superintendent Stefan Czaporowski announced that the city’s high school graduations will be hosted outdoors at Bullens Field. Westfield Technical Academy graduation is slated for June 3 at 7 p.m., and Westfield High School June 4 at 7 p.m.
Rain dates are scheduled for June 10 and 11. Czaporowski said COVID restrictions are too great to hold an indoor ceremony. According to state guidelines, there is a limit of six guests per graduate. Attendance will be limited to faculty, administrators, graduates and guests. Also required is a distance of six feet between graduates, and between guests or family groups in attendance. Czaporowski said they are going to have to adjust the configuration on the field and add seats in order to accommodate the social distancing.
Mask coverings are required for everyone, unless there is a medical condition or disability, and hand sanitizer will be available at stations.
