The health services and physical education staff in the Westfield Public Schools perform health screenings annually based on the laws in Massachusetts. Below is the schedule of screenings we provide:

1. Physical Examinations – we require that a physical exam is complete for every student entering kindergarten, grades 4, 7, and 10 as well as all transfer students.  

2. Vision Screenings – state mandated for grades kindergarten through grade 5 and grades 7 and 10.  We test all failures from the previous year and ALL new students in grades 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12.

3. Hearing Screenings - state mandated for grades kindergarten through grade 3 and grades 5, 7 and 10.  We test all failures from the previous year and ALL new students in grades 4, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12.

4. Scoliosis Screenings – state mandated every school year for grades 5 – 9

5. Heights and Weights – state mandated for grades 1,4,7 and 10.
